*Runway: Diesel Black Gold

Founded by Renzo Rosso and denim innovator Adriano Goldschmied in 1978, Diesel helped pioneer the high-end jeans category in the nineties. Having convinced a generation of guys that pre-shredded denim was worth paying extra for, in 2007 the company launched the more grown-up Diesel Black Gold line. While more sartorially inclined, it retains Diesel's signature deconstructed look.

Under the new creative direction of Sophia Kokosalaki, Diesel Black Gold presented their Autmmn-Winter Collection.
Staying true to the brand's rock star vibe, Kokosalaki upped the sex factor by contrasting soft faded denim and dark black leather, with a few hints of black velvet and black sheer organza.
The highlights of the show were (for me) the one-shoulder leather dresses and amazing belts.
*What`s your opinion on the collection?*

Christine Centenera has been popping up on professional Street Style Blogs quite a bit. She began her career working for Cosmopolitan Magazine and now divides her time between her role as Fashion Director and freelance stylist for Australian Harper`s Bazaar.
What I like about her style the most is that she combines her elegance chic look with an edgy touch; like combining classy pieces with sharp shoulders, studs and pastels.  Like a true patriot she`s wearing pieces from Australian designers combined with high fashion designers.
One of her statement outfits is a Josh Goot dress with a strong-shouldered Balmain jacket and YSL peep toe booties

Versace Women's Spring/Summer 2010 Runway MFW

A little “Alice in Wonderland” and a whole lot of classic Versace.
Donatella used vivid pastels, geometric prints, baroque curlicues, short-short skirts, and slinky, sexy chain mail for this Spring. She found her inspiration in the Alice in Wonderland movie from Tim Burton which comes out this Fall.
(When I was in Paris a week ago `Au Printemps` had a full `etalage` of Alice in Wonderland inspired pieces from designers).
Translating a visual wonderland theme without losing sensuality in the pieces can be triggy and overdone, but she maintains to keep it elegant without turning a touch vulgar. Especially the chain mail and other metallic details kept the collection edgy and daring. I used to be not a big fan of her previous collections, but this Spring collection was truly one of her strongest and more assured productions ever!

There's no question that the pursuit of urban street style has become, for the fashion minded people around us, nothing short of an addiction.  Roaming street style blogs can be an inspiration for every modern girl with a big interest in fashion and lifestyle.

It is time again to present my selection of contemporary street style.
I`ve chosen for outfits who have something *extra* besides their simplicity. And especially focusing on the professional street style blogs which are dedicated to put the creative pulse of the big cities in the spotlight.

*Enjoy this week`s snapshots and please FOLLOW my blog for more fashion scoops*

Anna Selezneva: Numero #110 February 2010 (NSFW)

I wanted to share you my favourite snapshots of the Numéro #110 issue.
Photographer Peter Lindbergh takes to the beach with cover girl Anna Selezneva.
The German photographer Peter Lindbergh is one of my favourites and has been described as a "poet of glamour." His work has been published by every major international fashion magazine and commissioned for the influential campaigns of the worlds leading fashion designers. Choosing Anna Selezneva as his model couldn´t be a better pick. This strong Russian beauty is reminiscent of an amazon warrior with her strong poses and intense gazes. What I like so much about the Editorial is that it's a raw, but still sensual shoot.  Over the years, the cinematic pictures in black and white have become the fashion photographer’s signature.

In the past few years, streetstyle photography has been booming during Fashion weeks, from Paris to London, New York to Milan... As important the photography is during the show, it is also outside the show on the streets.
Many professional photographers shoot models, editors, stylists or random people who have a keen eye of style which is translated in their outfit. But even as much important is the person who writes about it.
It`s very interesting how street style sites and blogs are increasingly influencing this year.  Step by step it`s becoming a world wide phenomenon which let little cities participate too. (although there`s much to catch up on when you compare the streetstyles off the big cities to the little ones).
Here some snapshots of the amazing street style looks for this Fall:

*I`m still in search for more street style sites/blogs, so if you want to share one with me, please leave a comment*
