Many fashion websites and magazines are pointing out that the creative director, Chistophe Decarnin, was a no-show backstage at the Balmain show. but I don't think that shouldn’t completely overshadow the clothes that came down the runway. That's why I want to focus more on the pieces of the collection. He traded the punk influences of last season for glam rock this Fall. Models strutted down the runway in sparkly sequined tops and pants, white leather and plunging necklines. Ziggy Stardust was his main inspiration which translated in the crystal-encrusted dresses and jumpsuits. We saw loosened-up silhouettes of the house's signature minidresses. Of course there were a couple of strong shoulders, this time covered in fur. So I haven't got that wow effect I used to have with Balmain, but there was still plenty to love about this season’s show. This time, Decarnin showed more welcoming and diverse pieces.
My favourite pieces? The crystal embroidered cocktail dress on the last picture and the bib-front tuxedo shirts.
