Right now, the body-con dress is a big trend, as this feminine silhouette transitioned into a daring shape for spring. The cut-out dresses inspired especially by the last seasons of Balmain’s, Preen's and Hervé Léger's creations, have finally hit the high-street.
So a great way to flaunt some skin this season is in a dress with strategically placed cutouts. This cut-outs give you a great focus on the midriff and the waist area. Something about the allusion to undergarments makes the look striking and very sexy.
The main key for this trend is to not overdo it; choose dresses with a discreetly peekaboo effect, transparent but not trashy.

I adore this trend, but it's not easy to wear when you aren't that skinny. you picked out some lovely items though :D
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh I'm in love with this trend, but I agree with Ilse about people has to be skinny.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBut I adore the cutouts.... so Rodarte!!!!
Great stuff you chose.
Maybe I'll do a DIY.... :)
xoxo
I think this can be very cute if it's done well. With DIY I'd take extra time.

@ Ilse & The Seeker:
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt's obvious that you first have to make sure if your body can handle this tricky trend: make sure you don’t have anything falling out from the holes, because that's off course a big no-no.
DIY is a great option, so you can choose which body features you want to standout in the dress.
@ everyone: Thanks for the comments!
Divine trend and post!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLove it!
Would do it asap if I had that Hervé Léger Vivien cutout bandage dress!

Gorgeous,gorgeous...I want the Balmain cutout, it's not too revealing, is it? All of them are spectacular! You my dear have an amazing eye!

I really like this trend but agree with the others that you need a certain body to pull this off nicely. Of course thankfully anyone can wear the shoes. I would personally wear some of the dresses (love all the Preen ones and the Balmain), but depending on where the cut-outs are. I don't like revealing too much. If I did find a dress with a cut-out in a place I'm not comfortable with but still really love it, I would probably wear a suitable camisole or tube top underneath.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGreat post by the way! Hope you're having a great weekend!
Oh I absolutely adore cut-out, that mcqueen belt is stunning! I think there definately needs to be some more high street versions of these. Thank you for your comments on my blog, sorry I've taen so long to get back to you, I've just finished my exams now and hopefully I'll be blogging a bit more now summer's here! I love your blog, it always inspires me to create cheap versions of the high end fashions.
