Since the brand changed it name, the pieces seem more rock'n'roll with a chic touch of edginess. Hedi Slimane, the new designer, has definitely kept the trademarks of Yves Saint Laurent, but has taken the label in a new, unexpected direction. Think leather, tuxedo tailoring & sequins. Every single piece oozes that they are timeless in their elegance and coolness. There are trim leather trousers, motorcycle jackets, and one-shoulder dresses that are accented with strips of metal bands. In contradiction to most of the resort shoots, the resort shoot is set in an industrial space that quite perfectly showcases the softer side of the designs.
