*Trend: Cutouts

16 COMMENTS SO FAR: TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK

Right now, the body-con dress is a big trend, as this feminine silhouette transitioned into a daring shape for spring. The cut-out dresses inspired especially by the last seasons of Balmain’s, Preen's and Hervé Léger's creations, have finally hit the high-street.

So a great way to flaunt some skin this season is in a dress with strategically placed cutouts. This cut-outs give you a great focus on the midriff and the waist area. Something about the allusion to undergarments makes the look striking and very sexy.

The main key for this trend is to not overdo it; choose dresses with a discreetly peekaboo effect, transparent but not trashy.

*Runway: Collette Dinnigan

8 COMMENTS SO FAR: TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK

Collette Dinnigan is described as one of Australia’s finest exports.
She is one of the most respected and honoured female icons known not only for her fashion influence, but also her trademark excellence in everything she does.
The Summer Night collection showcased the Sydney designer's signature bead work with a military influence that Dinnigan described as a "Mad Max edge".
The line up for the show were full of body-flattering dresses done up with studs, chain mail-effect sequins and zigzagging strokes of glitter.
She began her fashion show with a heavily beaded mini-dress in black and silver (definitely one of my favourite items from the show)
Those several deco elements juiced up the classy eveningwear.
Conclusion: once again a standout Dinnigan collection!

It's been a while since I've posted editorial shoots, because I'm a little choosy when it comes to this pictures. But I was very inspired by the Editorial shoots of the June issue from Vogue Tokyo and wanted to share some snapshots with you. The pictures are taken by David Vasiljevic, an interesting avant-garde fashion photographer. The model Jessica Stam strikes some powerful poses for this issue.

I was immediatly thrilled by the atmosphere of these photos. Vasiljevic's photos are powerful and bold with female subjects rarely looking ultra-feminine but still beautiful and often incredibly striking. Jessica Stam's trademark eyes and fresh face are the finishing touch for this amazing pictures.
